download: Multi mp3 Player Component (73.40KB) added: 11/04/2011 clicks: 511 description: this is an all round mp3 player, plays as many mp3s as you want it to from inside one folder, reads and displays the contents of the mp3s id3 tag, making there no need for any external files. very small but very powerfull component for swishmax 4. |
This MP3 player component is designed to be easy to use. You can load any standard MP3 file and easily specify paramers to change the playes look and functions, unlike most mp3 components this mp3 player component allows you to play endless mp3s rather than just a single file, change the style of the player by changing the colour of the interface, text and buttons all from within the parameters, this all in one player reads the MP3′s ID3′s tag and displays the Song Name and the Artists Name, no need for external files this is an all in one player and can be used as a stand alone player.
make sure all the files are inside one folder for this to player to work, mp3 folder, swf file and the html file.

Requirements
Flash Export version SWF 6 or later (SWF 8 for filter effects)
SWiSH Max version v4.0, build 2010.11.02 or later
Important
The Flash Player only supports MP3 files that have a frequency of 11kHz, 22kHz, or 44kHz.
The mp3 files within your mp3 folder must all be named in the following order to work with the player
1.mp3, 2.mp3, 3.mp3, 4.mp3, 5.mp3 and so on.
Useage Instructions
From the Components panel, navigate to Loweonline | Audio Players, then drag this component onto the Stage.
To modify the audio player itself, select the Multi_Mp3_player_v# MovieClip in the Outline and open the Parameters panel. Add the URL to your MP3 folder in the MP3 Folder filed as either an absolute or relative file path (see Setting the MP3 Folder, below). Then modify the other parameters to suit your needs.

Setting The MP3 Folder
It is important to note that if a relative file path is used for the MP3 Folder parameter, it will be referenced relative to the HTML page itself.

the folder name must have the / (forward slash) at the end for this to work incorect (mp3s) - corect (mp3s/).
Setting The Number Of Tracks
You can set the number of tracks to be played in the player, this amount is how many mp3 files you have inside your mp3 folder.
this must be defined by a numerical value and not a writen one. corect (3) - incorect (three).

Setting The Starting track
You can set the prefered starting tracksto be played in the player when it first loads,
this must be defined by a numerical value and not a writen one. corect (1) - incorect (one).

Setting The Starting Volume
You can set the initial volume level when the player starts by entering a numerical value into the Starting Volume parameter.
you can set from a list of 20, 50 or 100 for the starting volume.

Changing the Players Look
you can change the way the player looks in the Colour Setting parameters, change the player interface colour, the text colour and the button colours.

This is exactly what I have been looking for, however, when I unzip it, it’s an executable file that installs only a swi file…am I missing something?

the swi is the component,
have you read the following in the help file
you then setup the player by setting the parameters.
all the information for this component is on this page,

craig.

This is a fantastic player. As is a lot of your work. The only problem is it being completely un-editable due to the password protection. Nice to see how things work, and move buttons and such around to suit. But never mind……I’ll stick with what I’ve got
Keep up the good work.

when you say uneditable, what do you want to edit, the colour can be changed for the player, also the button colours etc. the font colour. the player was built for people with no scripting knowledge so the y can easily add an mp3 player to any swishmax movie that plays more than 1 trck unlike the ones you get packaged with swishmax 4 that only play 1 track.

When I say un-editable, I’m not talking about the colours, buttons, etc. It’s great that they can be changed so easily.
I’m talking about, size, width, length, positioning of parts of the player. (You can only stretch or squash the whole thing, buttons included) Removing buttons, adding buttons, adapting it to suit a specific space on a website. If you know what I mean.

thats difficult because its a component, a component is just a movieclip. so apart from editing items iside the movieclip would be a great deal more coding to enable strecthing etc, was meant for people to easily add a music player with no scripting knowledge and no external files only the mp3 files.
if you wish to do as you request i sugest you make your own player that way you can always change it to your needs.

I’ve got my own made from various sources using an xml sheet to load a playlist etc. It’s just nice to see other stuff and how it’s made. I try to keep an eye on what’s newly made/added to the community.
Will keep an eye out for anything new you do

always doing new stuff. over the years i have done xml based mp3 playes, id3 tag mp3 players, text based mp3 players, but this has no need for and external files to be loaded, which makes it easy and simple to add to any existing movie. without any scripting knowledge and any external files to be loaded. very small files size, very fast loading. if you let me know what you wish to see i will see if i can implement it.
however my next components will be clouds and fire. then maybe another photo gallery to add to the previous 2.

@jamgood
would those sources be craigs too, because when i search for mp3 players for swishmax it seems their are not many others sources other than craigs.
i have know craig for many years through the swish communiyt, and what people forgrt he is not a professionnal. he is all self taught. and gives back to the community what he has taken from it, he even provides 2 websites free of charge which he funds himself. if you have anything to share in the way of a swi file share it in a post and maybe he can turn that into a component. but i must say i think all his work is very inspiring. and he alwayd has the people who are not to good at understang code in mind.
Thanks Craig..

Don’t shoot me, I just have an opinion
I’m not knocking his work. I’ve seen it all over the place and it’s highly impressive and recommended around the Swish community. I think it’s great what he does. I wish I could do it myself but I just don’t have the time/understanding to commit to it. My only problem with anything made for swish is the password to hide the script/child objects. I can fully understand why someone would hide it. He wrote the code, it’s his, etc…..but without full access, you can’t adapt them to fit where you may want them. Great it you just want a square mp3 player. Bang it in. But if you have a specific place, 300 x 50 and want it long and flat, you’re buggered! Have to find or make something else.
As for my mp3 player, (well, the one I was using up until yesterday, was made by someone called Marco, or something along them lines. I’ve since made my own, simple, click play – stream mp3 player. It does the job I want. Play, Pause, Stop & FFW. Done.
As I said, I love the stuff Craig does. Seen his name all over the swish sites before I stumbled upon this blog looking at mp3 players for help/ideas/code to work on/with. The Etch-a-Sketch is awesome. Not something I’d use but my god it brough back some memories, as did Pong!
Don’t shoot me, I just have an opinion

lol. thanks everyone comments appreciated. the reason i hide the code is because its a free component and as it often happens things provided for free with full edibility often ends up making money for someone else. the component was made to simply add and change the colour of the player to fit whatever colour scheme of someone web or project. however i always offer my files for a fee for people to whatever with.
comments and opinions are welcome. but i will not offer full script edibility on something thats free and works as a component. i try to put enough options in the component to please everyone so they can edit them enough to fit their needs. if you already have an xml mp3 player i have writen a tutorial on how to make a component. maybe this would be an option for you. as you mention yourself you dont have the time, knowledge to sit down and do your own. i made the time and some time it took so you can appreciate why i hade the code etc. many thanks.

very nice too…the SimpleMP3-player from swishzone.com has a general setting called “Load from Start?” and this is what i am searching for. How much will it cost if you add this feature to the bare_bones_mp3_player-component?

Hallo Craig, a few days ago I asked, if it is possible to add a general setting like the “Load from Start?”-setting to this component. (like the SimpleMP3-player from swishzone.com has). I know that you are very busy. I would donate 20 pounds to get the “Bare Bones Mp3 Player Swishmax 4 Component” including this option. What do You think about it?

Now the song starts playing automatically.
Thank You.
