Welcome To Swish-Designs.co.uk Have a Nice Friday
Realistic Fire And Smoke - SwishMax Tutorial
First Of All
Open swishmax and set the size for the movie, i have used 120 x 220 and frame rate of 25 fps.
Step.1
Using the Elipse tool drag out a small circle aprox 21 x 21 pixels.
and add a radial gradient colour fill to the newly created circle.
use #FF9900 to transparent #FFFF00 see fig.1 below.
Fig.1
Step.2
Duplicate the circle 6 more times using copy and paste method,
untill you have 7 small circles like in fig.2 below
.
Fig.2
Step.3
Once you have the seven cicles you need to clump them closer together to look like a ball of fire
and group them all together as a shape see fig.3 below.
Fig.3
Step.4
Now you have the fireball add a move effect over 16 frame on the timeline.
see fig.4 below and add the following settings to the move actions properties.
Fig.4
Step.5
once you have set the settings from fig.4 above on the move action group the shape as a sprite.
at this stage you have just created a flame for the fire, press Ctrl+T to see it in the player.
you should have something looking like fig.5 below.
Fig.5
Step.6
Now duplicate the sprite four more time using the copy and paste action
changing the move actions properties on each of the sprites so they are slightly different
to what the settings are shown in fig.4, untill you end up with something
looking like fig.6 below, this may take you a while to get an effect you are happy with.
Fig.6
Step.7
Once you are happy with the effect you have group all the sprites together as a sprite
and duplicate twice more, clump closer together group everything as a sprite and name the sprite Fire
you should now have something looking like fig.7 below.
Fig.7
Step.8
repeat steps 1 - 7 but this time use different Radial Gradient fill colours #FFFFFF to transparent #FFFFFF
see fig.8 below.
Fig.8
when you have finishes following steps 1 - 7 with the new colour fill you should
have something looking like or at least resembling the example file at the begining of the tutorial.
this is a good effect to add to any website, game or presentation.
