Swishmax Simple Yet Realistic Cigarette Smoke Tutorial
In this tutorial you will learn how to create a realistic cigarette smoke effect.Example:
Step.1 (Important Please Read)
First open Swishmax 2 and set the movies properties, i have used the following. width = 283px x height = 353px. and the frame rate frame rate 25fps. with a black canvas, if you have your own image of a cigarette you wish to use import it into the movie now otherwise right click on the image below and save as cigarette.
Dont forget to save me if you have not got an image of a cigarette
And you will also need to save me as smoke too.

now click on the import image button and import the cigarette.png you have just saved from above into your movie.
Step.2
Now select the pen tool, and with it draw some wigle wavy lines, similar to what cigarette smaoke does when it goes into air, doesnt have to be that neat, take a look at fig.1 below.(
Fig.1Once you are happy with your smoke shape, name it mask then group it together as a movie clip and name the movie clip smoke, dont forget to place a tick where it says use bottom object as mask, the shape you have just created will add as a mask for the smoke.
Step.3
Import the smoke.png insite the smoke movie clip, and rename it to smoke, this just helps to identify items/objects.
you need to place this just underneath the mask shape, but in the tree order it needs to be above the mask shape. take a look at the next two images.
